About Me
Hi, I’m Regina Rausch—founder of RAISE Consulting, special education advocate, retired administrator, early interventionist, teacher, and proud believer in every child’s right to be seen, heard, and supported.
My journey in special education began over 25 years ago—not in a classroom or a conference center, but in the living rooms, kitchens, and playrooms of families with infants and toddlers receiving early intervention. Those early years—supporting birth-to-three in the home and teaching emotional support in an elementary school—taught me the power of presence, of partnership, and of listening deeply to the needs of both children and their caregivers.
As my career evolved, so did my reach. I became a preschool special education supervisor, then stepped into school-age leadership roles including supervisor, assistant principal, assistant director, and eventually director of special education. Along the way, I worked with students from birth through age 21, built inclusive programming, trained teachers, supported families, and helped shape policies that could either remove barriers—or build them.
Throughout these years, I witnessed the ways in which systems often failed our most vulnerable learners. But I also saw what was possible when empathy met expertise, when families felt empowered, and when schools chose inclusion. That’s where my heart has always been—walking with families, equipping educators, and creating learning environments where every student can thrive.
I also published a book on movement and brain development—blending my passion for sensory regulation with what we know about how children learn. Whether supporting a preschooler learning to self-regulate, or a high school student building independence, my work has always been grounded in understanding the whole child.
Now retired from public education, I’ve turned a lifetime of experience into a new beginning: RAISE Consulting. RAISE stands for Rausch Advocacy, Inclusion, Sensory, and Education—and it reflects every chapter of my professional journey. Through RAISE, I offer:
- Parent Advocacy – helping families navigate the special education process with clarity and confidence
- Professional Development – equipping educators and districts to build inclusive, student-centered practices
- PEERS® Social Skills Groups – teaching evidence-based skills to adolescents with autism, as a certified international PEERS® practitioner
- The Mobile Sensory Oasis – a traveling sensory experience that brings calming, engaging tools to children and their communities
I’ve come full circle—supporting families in their homes once again, now with the benefit of decades of service, leadership, and lived experience.
What began with home visits and classroom teaching has grown into something bigger: a platform for change that centers families, empowers educators, and opens doors for students with disabilities. That has always been, and will always be, my mission.
